Coffee

Coffee is an obsession of mine. After all, there’s coffee in the name of my blog. I remember the moment I first got introduced to coffee. My mother would drag me along to visits at my grandmother’s house. These visits had the tendency to be as boring as you could possibly imagine. I had to find ways to entertain myself and there weren’t many. I noticed that all of the grown ups who had shown up for a visit were drinking something steamy from a cup. I found out that the drink was called coffee. Being as young as I was, my mother didn’t want me to have anything to do with it.

I’m a persistent person though. I kept asking and asking until I started to give my mother fits. She relented and said that I could have a sip. A sip turned into a cup. Before I knew it, I was drinking as much coffee as people twice my age. I haven’t looked back since. In the years that passed since I was introduced to coffee, I began to have an overwhelming feeling of boredom. I had to deal with the same type of coffee over and over. Cup after cup. I noticed that it was time for a change.

That’s when I decided it was time to start this project. I set out to see if what I was experiencing in the world of coffee was all there was to experience. I was pleasantly surprised that the world of coffee is so multifaceted that I discovered I was nothing more than a coffee newbie. I set out to inform myself on everything having to deal with coffee. Since I’ve started, I’ve learned a lot. I still have a ton to learn and by no means am I an expert on the topic.

The aim of my coffee content is to talk about a topic that used to be unattainable to the masses. So many other coffee content creators choose to bog their readers down with jargon in an effort to appeal to the specialty coffee community. I have never taken this approach with anything about which I’ve written. I believe it’s better to talk about things in the simplest terms possible than to try to go out of your way to showcase the size and complexity of the words you know.

Now, without further adieu, I am headed deep into the world of coffee. Join me, shall you?
