Breathing Fire About Incomplete Websites

A website is only as good as the quality of information it provides. Using a website as nothing more than a placeholder is just as bad as not having a website at all. Your website should tell anyone who’s interested everything they need to know about your business. You should never expect that the public will read between the lines or research what you’re all about in their own time. If you never tell them enough to pique their interested, they will never care about your business. No one will want to find you unless you give them a reason to seek you out.

Being busy is not an excuse for avoiding completing your website. Countless artists are available at any given time to take your rough draft of a website and turn it into the envy of your industry. The days of being able to dominate without a comprehensive web presence have long since passed. If you want to prevail against your competitors, you have to outwork them on all fronts. You can’t expect that your product will do the work for you. There are so many other companies out there that have similar products. You have to do more to separate yourself from the pack.

I have a couple of reviews from the first version of this project I still need to complete. Too much time has passed for me to remember what their coffee tastes like. I hoped to at least turn these articles into profiles, but that doesn’t look like it will be possible. It’s likely that I will piece together one article that provides each company with equal coverage. I hate to force content though. I despise the thought of anything I write sounding even remotely unnatural.

To all businesses out there, look at your website. Does it tell everyone everything they need to know about what you intend to accomplish? If it doesn’t, you need to get to work right away to ensure that it does. Excuses won’t get your business from the back of the pack to the front.

Your ability to stay on the forefront of what’s needed for you to succeed in your industry will determine whether you will wind up on the scrap heap of history or continue to rise through the ranks and become a juggernaut and the envy of all those starting at the bottom with aspirations of getting to the top.
